The V8 engine from the Vantage S is traditionally mounted longitudinally, while the original Cygnet, with its 1.3-liter engine, had a transverse layout. The seven-speed automatic gearbox from the Vantage was retained, but the driveshaft had to be shortened to fit within the Cygnet’s compact frame.
