Chinese straddling bus concept provide a solution for megacity problems

The straddling or elevated bus first exhibited on the 13th Beijing International High-tech Expo 2010, and is believed to provide the accurate solution of traffic congestion experienced by many megacities worldwide.

This elevated bus designed by Shenzhen Hashi Future Parking Equipment Co., Ltd, the model looks like a subway or light-rail train bestriding the road like the letter of 'n' is given the cap on top of it. The Chairman of the company has said that it would only take a year for one to be built.

So you can imagine that the straddling bus is a pit or fissure-like tunnels, thus allowing smaller cars can run on under/below it. The straddling bus has a width of approximately 7 meters and an overall height of about 4 - 4.6 meters, of which about 2.2 meters for the high of vault under the bus and about 2.4 meters to the height of the bus itself. Here is the presentation by Song Youzhou, chairman of  Shenzhen Hashi Future Parking Equipment Co., Ltd.
This elevated bus could replace up to 40 conventional buses, so they can save up to 860 tonnes of fuel that used by 40 buses each year and reduce carbon emissions by 2,640 tonnes. The transport vehicles that can carry up to 1,200 passengers do not need much to change the road infrastructure, because it took advantage of the space is so far not utilized.

Despite the large body, straddling bus also environmentally friendly because it powered by electricity and solar. Straddling bus is capable of running at a speed of about 40 - 60 km per hour are expected to reduce the traffic congestion by 25 - 30% in the main streets.
Same with other buses, straddling bus is also has stations for the public to use. This giant bus also has a good security system, such as an emergency brake, windows and emergency stairs which can be used in case of a road accident, technical error, etc.

As quoted of DailyMail, the first tests of the bus are scheduled to start trail operation in Qinhuangdao City, in north China's Hebei Province, in the second half of this year. This means the buses could be in place by the end of the year. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CHINAHUSH | NEXT BIG FUTURE | TREEHUGGER | DAILYMAIL]

Yes, the motorcycle designs are made sporty and aggressive that also have the function to improve the aerodynamics. Here are four sporty motorcycles which have fierce faces:

1. BMW S1000R
BMW S1000R have headlamp design and aggressive body lines. Motorcycle-style like a robot, is seen from the use of a projector as one of the reflectors in the headlights.

In addition, a muscular impression emerging from the side fairing that covers its 999 cc engine, and combined with a sporty style of sharp corners that are on the tail.

Can Humans fight the aging?

Are you afraid of old? Wrinkles? Becoming senile? Or, spend the rest of the time in helplessness? All it will no longer be a problem. Soon human freed from these concerns. Human's physical body will no longer aging.

According to the founder as well as a senior scientist of Strategies for Engineered Negligible Senescence (SENS) Research Foundation. Aubrey de Grey is very confident that human immortality can be realized.
Can Humans fight the aging? (Picture from: http://adf.ly/1aKeRI)
"The study we're working on fixing the effects of aging will allow humans to live a thousand years. Or even do not need to die," she said. According to the Cambridge University alumnus, there are still too few scientists who study on the prevention of aging.

"So, people strongly believe in the concept that being old is a natural process. But, in fact not the case. In my opinion, being old can be fought," said De Grey. Old, she added, is a sign that the body is damaged.

In an interview with The Actuary, De Grey likens the human body to a machine. Like the engine, in the human body there are many components.

"Like a car's engine or an aircraft engine, the human body also bears the accumulation of damage that occurred during his life as a consequence of normal," she explained about the aging process.

Although normal, the damage can be prevented or corrected. "Just a matter of time until people can find the most appropriate formula to repair the damage in the body such as the damage to the vehicle's engine," she said.
That explanation makes De Grey harvest many criticisms. However, she stuck to her line. "Over time, our research shows things are increasingly significant," she said.

Therefore, De Grey was getting steady work on the study. Now she is getting immune to criticism. Moreover, after many separate studies appearing and even support such studies. One of these studies on the Metformin, Rapamycin, and Resveratrol that can prevent cell aging. "I believe science can cure aging," she said.

With the aid of drugs, according to her, the body will be fooled. The manipulation is what then makes the aging process in the body stops. De Grey convinced, over time, her research will be more perfect. Thus, hope to extend human life in a better quality nor impossible.

The genes study
Have the same mission with Aubrey de Grey of SENS, the scientists from the Buck Institute for Research on Aging and the University of Washington believe, by doing a bit of genetic change, the human lifespan can be increased up to 60 percent.

The research they've done during the past ten years have identified 238 genes that when removed can extend the life span of yeast cells. These genes are mostly found in mammals, including humans, so it may just human lifespan can be extended by removing those genes.

To identify the gene responsible for the aging process, the scientists examined 4,698 yeast cell lines, each of which has been removed one of their genes and then monitor how long these cells could live before stopping breakaway.

According to Dr. Mark McCormick of the Buck Institute, the best results of the research is the elimination of a gene that can extend the life of yeast cells by up to 60 percent longer than the normal yeast cells. The gene is a gene LOS1, that associated with changes in genes associated with calorie restriction through fasting and extended life.

According to Dr. Kennedy, lead author of the study, by removing the hormones that encourage the growth could affect the body to slow aging. The latest study, published in the journal Cell Metabolism. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SENS RESEARCH FOUNDATION]

Tomahawk pure electric supercar will be available in 2017

Do you remembered on the car figure named Tomahawk that have ever published by us in an article some time ago (jump to the article)? Lately, it seems as though automotive manufacturers are introducing new supercars on a weekly basis — and the impression is similar for the electric vehicle market In general, the total number of EVs sold is expected to increase from 2.6 million (2015) to over six million by 2024, said Dubuc Motors, who is looking to get a share of the pie with its Tomahawk supercar.

The Canadian company, based in Quebec City, will use a U.S. equity crowdfunding platform (StartEngine) to raise money for its electric model in hopes of selling it in 2017.

"Equity crowdfunding is fueling innovation, enabling investors across America to support progressive companies like Dubuc Motors at a ground floor level," said Ron Miller, CEO of StartEngine.

The Tomahawk EV will be manufactured in North America, and will include an all-aluminum exterior, and scissor doors that Tech Vibes says can "move at a 95 degree angle." The model also features a panoramic sunroof, 360-degree cameras, navigation, wireless connectivity and more. For comfort and ease-of-mind, hands-free voice-activated commands, advanced collision warnings, and an onboard computer are also part of the deal.

Performance-wise, the supercar is capable of accelerating from zero-to-60 miles per hour in 3 seconds and reaching a maximum speed of 160 mph. The car also gets a 300-mile range, and uses two electric motors (one for the front, and one for the rear) and a single-speed transmission. It also features all-wheel drive, an adjustable air suspension for ride height, an aluminum sport double wishbone suspension (front and rear), and a flat undercarriage (perhaps for battery arrangement). Not all of the vehicle’s specifications have been revealed, but the automaker has included enough information to get enthusiasts excited about the 2017 launch.
