SE Service Harrier: A Swedish Masterpiece of Innovative Motorcycle Customization

Unique RIDES - A little while back, we delved into the world of the Watkins M001, a truly unique motorbike crafted by an anonymous lecturer hailing from Poland, Jack, who drew inspiration from other exceptional custom motorcycles, including the remarkable SE Service BMW Custom 'Harrier' by builder Stellan Egeland of Sweden.

Venturing into the realm of custom motorcycles, the SE Service Harrier is a striking creation by a Swedish motorcycle builder workshop, in collaboration with ISR, a fellow compatriot specializing in motorcycle parts. The foundation for this masterpiece was none other than the BMW HP2 motorcycle, upon which they ingeniously integrated the hub-steering system – a design reminiscent of the sleek Italian-made motorcycles like the iconic Bimota Tesi

Marking a significant milestone, the SE Service Harrier stands as the inaugural modern custom motorcycle originating from this Swedish workshop, placing a strong emphasis on both design aesthetics and the rider's immersive experience.

The undeniable uniqueness of its design caught the discerning eyes of judges at the 2009 European Championship Of Custom Bike Building held in Sturgis, Germany, where it proudly clinched the runner-up title, a testament to its exceptional craftsmanship. While boasting the distinctive hub-steering feature, the SE Service Harrier remains faithful to its BMW roots by retaining its powertrain.

The innovation doesn't stop there – the Harrier is loaded with an array of advanced components that elevate its performance. At the forefront, the front brakes stand out with their six-piston monobloc calipers, and the bike is fortified with switchable ABS, seamlessly merging safety and control. To ensure a smooth and secure ride, Öhlins suspension components have been expertly incorporated both at the front and rear, effectively absorbing shocks and providing unparalleled comfort.

Intricately weaving together form and function, custom-crafted aluminum and carbon fiber elements are generously sprinkled throughout the entirety of the motorcycle. These premium materials not only enhance its visual allure but also contribute to its overall agility and handling.

As the wheels of innovation keep on turning, the SE Service Harrier stands proudly as a testament to the limitless possibilities of motorcycle customization. This legacy is further carried forward by the Slugger, its "streamlined" successor, which embraced a turbocharger and clinched victory in the Scandinavian championship. Firmly rooted in the harmonious fusion of artistic design and state-of-the-art engineering, these Swedish masterpieces redefine the established conventions of what a contemporary custom motorcycle can accomplish.
