Introducing The Next Day: Lynk & Co's Cutting-Edge Electric GT Concept

Unique EV - The American automotive market continues to attract foreign manufacturers, including Chinese automaker Lynk & Co, a subsidiary of Geely Automobile Holdings. The company recently announced its interest in entering the US automotive market, according to CEO Alain Visser.

To pave the way for its entry, Lynk & Co unveiled The Next Day Concept during their spring/summer conference. This groundbreaking four-door GT showcases the company's new styling concept and serves as a preview for their upcoming all-electric car.

The Next Day features a large and futuristic liftback body with a suicide door. The front of the car retains the distinctive design elements seen in other models, such as slim vertical headlights with tilted LED daytime running lights.

The concept car boasts an edgy front fascia with vertical lighting units and concealed sensors located in the lower "tech band" with shutters. Moving towards the rear, the vehicle reveals a sleek greenhouse-like canopy, aerodynamic wheels, and streamlined bodywork. These features are enhanced by flared fender accents and a dynamic shoulder line that splits into a Y shape at the center of the tailgate.

At the rear, The Next Day Concept showcases an almost non-existent "rear window" that seamlessly blends into a truncated tail, housing LED lights that span the width of the bodywork. These lights feature a minimalist design. Below, the bumper integrates a sporty-cut diffuser with what appear to be two large air vents. Additionally, attention is drawn to the gills on the front wheel arches, as well as the front splitter and side skirts.

While details about the interior are limited, the car features a "Formula 1 type" steering wheel with a configurable display in the center. A large screen for the infotainment system is positioned on a floating console, potentially accented with wood trim. These elements aim to enhance comfort and provide ample space for the four passengers.

In terms of powertrain, The Next Day is expected to be a plug-in hybrid. According to a report by CarNewsChina, it will be equipped with the E-Motive powertrain, utilizing an engine to drive the front wheels and an electric motor for the rear wheels.
