Studebaker Commander 4-Door Sedan. The customization project was undertaken by a skilled auto builder named
Tim Warner from Tampa, Florida.

Tim Warner obtained a

Mitsubishi's rear window matched almost perfectly with the
Studebaker's deck lid.
Tim then mounted the modified body, now transformed into a 2-door configuration, onto a custom-made tube frame. To power this unique car, he installed a small block
Chevrolet engine with an overdrive transmission.

The result was a stunning
Tungsten-colored Studebaker bullet-nose custom, boasting not only beautiful aesthetics but also exceptional performance. The car features custom suspension and is powered by a 5.7-liter 8-cylinder engine borrowed from the
Corvette. A five-speed automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels. Additionally, the vehicle's rear showcases a tail-mounted
Pratt and Whitney jet engine case housing the exhaust.

The interior of this custom
Studebaker is equally remarkable.
Don Kite, the mastermind behind the interior design, added brushed aluminum and stainless steel accents, giving it a unique touch. The car is equipped with luxurious amenities, including full climate control and heated seats.

The exceptional craftsmanship and design of the
1951 Studebaker "Super Sonic" Custom were duly recognized. It received the prestigious
Car of the Year award at the
Pixar Animation Studios Motorama (the exact year is not specified). In January 2009, this remarkable example of a handmade custom car was sold at an auction event in Scottsdale, Arizona, fetching an impressive price of
$106,700.
