The EdisonFuture's versatile solar-powered electric vehicle supports the use of renewable energy
GreenONES - Currently, along with the decreasing availability of fossil fuels, it turns out that many parties are concerned about this issue, it is not limited to just automotive companies, there are also the companies from other field, they starting to innovate in making a number of technological breakthroughs to utilize renewable energy. Which in turn can support the fulfillment of energy needs for the latest vehicle products that are more efficient and environmentally friendly.

This is what one of the solar panel manufacturer from China, SPI Energy, is trying to do. Since its establishment in 2016, a number of the company's activities have been focused on encouraging industrial progress and evolution, especially on matters relating to the presence of products to ease human activities. For such reason, then the Chinese company in partnership with American automotive startup EdisonFuture to design and build two versatile electric-powered vehicles.

Now it seems that the mission is starting to bear fruit with the presence of an electric-powered pickup called the EdisonFuture EF1-T, following with its sibling the EF1-V as a delivery van type. The EF1-T pickup’s exterior seems very neat and clean with minimal exterior elements used. The front has C Shape LED lights which reminds of Ford F-Series. As you can see, there're a flush door handle and Camera pod (as an ORVM) at the side that brings quite a sleek side look to the truck.

Unlike the exterior, its interior is very futuristic and fresh. This electric-powered pick-up has a seating capacity of 6 people, because there is no center console so that three people can sit comfortably in the front. There’s no button or dial to access the interior features but instead, there’s a massive 17.5-inch touch screen infotainment display and two dedicated displays for the side camera located near A-pillars also there’s drives display along with a heads-up display that shows various vehicle information while on the go.

Meanwhile in terms of performance, as the EF1-T pickup in Standard version is powered by a single 470 hp electric motor, so the car capable to accelerate from rest to 100 kph in about 6.5 seconds with driving range as far as over of 480 km.
Besides that, the automaker also provides two other options, such as the Premium version which is equipped with two electric motors so that acceleration time from rest to 100 kph can be done in just 4.5 minutes with driving range over of 611 km.

Finally, the Super version with three electric motors with power of 816 hp and achieve acceleration from rest to 100 kph in just 3.9 seconds and claimed has a driving range over of 720 km. To fulfill its electric power, this EF1-T pick-up is also equipped with a DC fast charger that will charge the battery pack from 0 to 80% in just 25 minutes, on Expected battery capacity of 100 kw to 120 kW.

Uniquely, the EF1-T four-door pickup or its EF1-V delivery van version sibling is also equipped with a sophisticated charging system feature by using solar cells. As you can see, these modern designed versatile vehicles are equipped with solar mosaic technology, the power will be charged after being exposed to sunlight. Therefore, it allows the electric vehicles to charge optimally while used for daytime mobility in the open-terrains.
As quoted from E-VehicleInfo, the price is estimated to be around $40,000 in the US. And the company assures that the EF1-T pickup and EF1-V delivery van both are designed and engineered from scratch by Livermore in California. The launch date has not been announced yet, but the company hopes to start production in 2025.
