Hopium revealed its new hydrogen technoligical platform concept

Green ONES - How about the used of hydrogen as one of alternative fuels. So, here is one of the implementations carried out by a startup from France called Hydrogen Motive Company (HMC). As quoted from Goodwood, this automotive company was founded by Olivier Lombard, a racing driver who's betting its existence on hydrogen technology with a marque of Hopium that sounds an awful lot like a meme.

So what is the name of the mentioned car made by this company? The name of the car is Hopium Machina, which has made its debut at the Paris Motorshow 2022. Furthermore, this French company says that this is its first car, which carries a four-doors sporty sedan style with weighs under two tons, powered by hydrogen fuel cell technology of 500 horsepower with its driven coverage of over 620 miles (or approx. 997.8 km), plus the refueling time is also very fast, which is only 3 minutes.

In introducing the concept car, Lombard stated that the Hopium Machina is set to launch in 2025, and is a "real technological breakthrough." On the outside it looks like it has a premium avant-garde feel to it featuring distinctive headlamps and mesh-style lower intakes that match the flowing bodywork, aerodynamic alloy wheels and flat door handles.

Complementing the luxurious impression, this model also features taillights and a vent-like design to prevent air from accumulating on the rear wheels.

Meanwhile, for the cabin, Hopium Machina provides enough spaces and conviniences for four people featured with an infotainment system that covers the entire dashboard, and is operated by haptic controls, but the details have not been disclosed by Hopium.

The French automaker has already opened a book of orders and deposits of $488 (around Rp.7 million) for the first 1,000 Machina units, with full prices starting at $143,000 (around Rp.2.06 billion). Deliveries are expected to start in 2025, while production starts in the first quarter of 2022 then.
The automaker also said that the company's team was fully committed to executing the next steps by aiming to manufacture the Hopium Machina on an industrial scale, with a new meeting expected in the first quarter of 2022 with all materials are sourced from Europe to minimize the carbon footprint involved in transporting them to Hopium's planned factory located in Normandy. Besides that, it also supporting this goal was Hopium's premium positioning.
The Hopium Machina's pricing will match that of more established competitors, including the EQS and Porsche Taycan, with the second-generation model due for release in 2027, two years after the Machina's launch date.
