Rox GT, a lesser-known Swedish homemade sports car
HOME Made Perhaps not many know about the Swedish automaker that we are going to talk about today. Well, that's natural because every time there is a question regarding the names of automotive companies from Sweden and it is almost certain that those that come up are Koenigsegg, Volvo and SAAB.

Currently, the name of the car made by Koenigsegg is on top, and lastly the Swedish company launched the Koenigsegg CC850, Jesko, and Gemera. Meanwhile, other brands, such as Volvo and SAAB have been acquired each by China's corporations such Geely Group and China Evergrande New Energy Vehicle Group, and produced four-seats, two-seats sedan, commercialized vehicles up to EV.

Well, the following Swedish company, Rox, has never been heard of before, because this is a small-scale company, or rather a home industry. The company is based in a small town with a population of around 70,000 named Eskilstuna, that is an hour and a half from Stockholm.

As previously stated, this Rox GT sports coupé produced by this Swedish manufacturer are indeed very different from those produced by other large compatriot automakers. As quoted from the official sites of RoxGT.se, although this classic GT-styled sports coupé is a home-made product, technically it is more sophisticated than it seems from the outward shell by the commons.

The automaker further stated that the purpose of building this car was to combine the past and the present to achieve the passion and experience of their design. Because according to them, the average modern design is currently only pursuing performance achievements and slightly ignoring other elements from the past.

The automaker also convinced that through a well-conceived design, which is then executed properly, can be both very potent and simultaneously cost-effective car results. Well, after simply chosen to be inspired by the most beautiful cars of the past and then they designed the car by their own creation. The design will be tube-frame, plastic body incorporating a mid-engine V8 of course.

As the result, it is a Swedish car with an exceptional design, it has taken around 10 years to build and two units have been produced. Initially there is no commercial intention. Under the hood, there are two different engines in the two units produced, one of them with an Alfa Romeo 3.0 V6 engine with 310 hp and the second one is fitted with a 383ci SBC engine with 400 hp.
The first Rox GT sports coupé made its debut at the 2017 Bilsport Custom Motor Show which took place in Jönköping, Sweden. Although there is not much information related to this sports coupé, the automaker is willing to share its car's building process through a series of Youtube videos.
