Gordon Murray Automotive unveiled its newest supercar of the GMA T.33 Spider
NEW BEAST After some time ago launching the T.50 and T.33 Coupe supercars, recently the British supercar manufacturer, Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) again gave birth to its newest model, the GMA T.33 Spider as an open-top supercar which is said to be produced in limited numbers of 100 units.

Furthermore, the automaker stated that the GMA T.33 Spider was built using the same chassis construction as the T.33 Coupe, but has a roof panel made of lightweight carbon so that it can be stored in the front trunk. With the addition of a new roof, the manufacturer had to change the rear body of the car, including providing rollover protection.
The body structure of the GMA T.33 Spider still relies on the Gordon Murray Technologies iStream Ultralight carbon monocoque. Composite carbon fiber coats the elbow pipe, die-cast aluminum, for a light yet sturdy look.

As quoted from Motor1, in the interior there is actually no difference when compared to the coupe version, where the T.33 Spider is still decorated with a large analog tachometer on the center screen of the steering wheel.

Then, there are two additional screens that can adjust climate control and an infotainment system consisting of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Besides that, the GMA T.33 Spider has a spacious storage space of 295 liters, including two 90 liter compartments on both sides of the machine.

Furthermore, this car is equipped with a modern-styled steering wheel made of carbon fiber covered in leather and both seats are made of lightweight carbon fiber. There are switchgear, pedals and gear shifters made of aluminum.

GMA also features an enhanced "Passive Boundary Layer Control" system. This system serves to increase downforce. The workings of the system include an air duct at the front that is directed to the rear diffuser.

While on the legs, the T.33 Spider is fitted with lightweight 19-inch and 20-inch rims with Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires. With the addition of panels and several parts that support this roadster car, the T.33 Spider is claimed to be 18 kg heavier than coupe version.

For maximum safety and control on the road surface, the braking system of this British supercar uses Carbon Ceramic Matrix (CCM) which has been prepared for the T.33 Coupe and Spider. Discs measuring 370 x 34 mm are accompanied by six-piston calipers for the front. Meanwhile, the rear 340 x 34 mm is escorted by four piston calipers behind.
Only 100 units of the GMA T.33 Spider will be made, which are handmade by skilled hands at Highams Park, Windlesham, England. (Picture from: GoOto)
In terms of the engine, Professor Gordon Murray CBE, who owns the brand and is directly involved in the design of the car as well, said that when he draws a car, he also imagines what it's like to be in the car when it's driving. "So, starting from the initial sketches, you already know, with an open cockpit and the extraordinary Cosworth GMA.2 V12 engine right behind the driver, the T.33 Spider will present a driving experience that no other will provide," he said.

So as you can see, there is no difference from the coupe version, namely the 3.9-liter naturally-aspirated V12 Cosworth' engine which can produce 607 hp and 451 Nm of torque with a six-speed manual transmission.
As quoted from Carscoops, the car will be built at GMA’s new headquarters in Highams Park, where the production team expects to be ready to go by the end of the year. So far, the price has not been released yet, but as an illustration, the T.33 Coupe is sold starting at £1.37 million, or around Rp. 25.5 billion, and of course the price of the T.33 Spider could be above it. Whatever the price that appears later, that's numbers fair enough for such supercar. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | GORDON MURRAY AUTOMOTIVE | MOTOR1 | CARSCOOPS ]
