Track BEAST - Until today, there have been many great creations were born into the world's automotive would like to get their turn to be driven fast on tarmacs of racing tracks or highway. Accordance to this, and as one of true automotive enthutiats as well, our curiousity always disturbed when we find such figure of exotic cars (at least in our opinion) pass in our sight while surfing in internet.
This is the Scioto Coupe, a track-focused two seater sports car produced by Fields Auto Works and is clearly inspired by a series of Le Mans racers from the 1960s. (Picture from: HiConsumption)
And just recently, we;ve found a such kind of car, so sparks our interest in discussing about it. This car represents a lifetime of automotive insight, dream and aspiration to create the perfect car. The mentioned car was the Scioto Coupe, a track-focused sports car produced by Fields Auto Works.

Then who is the person behind the making of this car? He is Bob Fields who has been sketching these cars for years, designing them all on grid paper complete with extensive parts drawings, making money in his garage, and now in retirement along with his son Rob estabilished a thriving and successful automotive start-up company based in Ohio with this unique shaped sports car as their second car made.

While for the second one, they hired an expert to take all of their cumulative designs and engineering at Scioto into a computer and attach a clean style on it. The aerodynamic features were retained and Bob Fields was still working on the internal chassis designs and executing the project.

As quoted from Carbuzz, the Scioto Coupe appears like a reflection of the racing cars of the past. The car profile is clearly inspired by a series of Le Mans racers from the 60s. This can be seen on the front which has a resemblance to the Ford GT. There are also Nissan R390 (24 Hours of Le Mans veteran) impressions in the rear profile and overall shape. Although it draws inspiration from several sources, it is undeniably quite interesting.
Thanks to the using fiberglass materials for Scioto's bodywork, the automaker manages to make it has a relatively light weight of only 1,900 lbs. (Picture from: CarBuzz)
Besides its bodywork has been designed to cut through the air with ease, the using osf fiberglass on Scioto's bodywork manages to make it has a relatively light weight of only 1,900 lbs. With such a weight, actually this car does not need a big engine to move vigorously. However, it didn't stop this Ohio-based bespoke automaker from installing an LS-based V8 engine with 505 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. Nevertheless there's always another option, if you want 60% more power
you'll have to be willing to spend the extra money as a consequence. Then
the automaker provides its customers with two transmission options,
namely a six-speed manual or a sequential transaxle box.

As you can see, the Scioto Coupe adopted a mid-mounted drivetrain which is intended for optimal balance and handling,
helped further by the double control arm pull-rod suspension. Besides
that, this car is also equipped with fully adjustable coilover dampers,
allowing the driver to set it according to his wishes. Next for its brake system, the Scioto Coupe receives a four-piston caliper brake system with two-section ventilated rotors. The system can also be adjusted by the driver via the cockpit-mounted brake bias control.

To be able to enter the Scioto Coupe cabin, the automaker is provided a unique gullwing door feature, and inside the cabin you'll find a cockpit with space for two occupants just features the essentials ones such composite sport seats, six-point harnesses, and a six-inch driver display. While what has been offered above is quite impressive, the Ohio-based car company still have many other offerings for customers. So how much did all that cost? Furthermore the bespoke automaker says prices start at $115,000 (and that doesn't include the engine).
Eventhough this number looks high for a racing car, there is no denying that it is a unique way to be existed with something unique and stylish when speeding on the racetrack. It's still significantly cheaper than the KTM GT-XR, which costs aronud $306,575. Or if you still insisted on getting something much cheaper, then you can try using other cars made by Fields Auto Works such as the Cardinal Coupe which has a price tag starting at $ 50,000.😍
Unfortunately, there's no word on how many of the Scioto Coupe will be produced, the Ohio-based automaker only said that the first batch has already sold out. But don't worry, the second allocation has been prepared, with deliveries expected to start at the end of 2023. So, if you are interested one of models or both (Scioto Coupe and Cardinal Coupe), you can start by ordering them in HERE...! 😎 *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | FIELDS AUTO WORKS | CARBUZZ | AUTOBLOG | COROFLOT | DRIVINGYOURDREAM ]
