McLaren unveiled the videogame-inspired Solus GT hypercar

has became as an unexpected surprise to the automotive world when
McLaren turned fantasy into reality by unveiling its newest hypercar,
the McLaren Solus GT at The Quail 2022.

Actually, it was the McLaren
Ultimate Vision Gran Turismo concept car previously had appeared
virtually in a well-known video game titled 'GranTurismo Sport' on the
Sony PlayStation 4 console. From the exterior, this McLaren's single-seater hypercar looks nothing less than a prototype class race car for the World Endurance Championship.

For some reason, in our perpective this McLaren hypercar immediately reminds us of the Mazda Furai. Perhaps (at glance) both has similar appearance. So, how about you? As you can see, the McLaren Solus GT is built based on a unique carbon fiber monocoque chassis that is lightweight and therefore weighs under 1,000 kg. Although, it's capable of producing 1,200 kg of downforce while running at full speed.

While, at the front, there is a small cutout featuring the onboard suspension, coupled with the slim LED headlights. Furthermore the driver sits in the middle, like the McLaren F1 without two other passenger seats.

The driver's seat, which is fixed and adjusted according to the driver posture, and is accessed by opening the canopy upward. Then inside the cabin of the Solus GT, there's a Formula 1-inspired carbon fiber steering wheel, and digital mirror displays, so that when you are in the cabin it feels like in a fighter's cockpit.

Uniquely, all engine components are gear driven, meaning they are not connected to any belts or chains. By using such engine power, so it could helped to propel the Solus GT to a claimed top speed of over 320kph. While for its acceleration capability from 0 to 100 kph just in 2.5 seconds.
At the rear, the McLaren Solus GT is equipped with a large wing along with fins that extend from the top of the cockpit all the way to the rear. In addition, this McLaren's hypercar also gets two LED taillights and an F1-style third brake light that sits below the exhaust pipe.
