The key for Virgil Abloh and Mercedes-Benz' team to run this project was a responsible vision for future designs. Complete creative freedom (not bound by production requirements) allowed the design team to conceptualize what the electric-powered rides travel in the future might be looked like. Beneath the transparent surface of the car's hood, for example, there're solar cells to extend the mileage of this concept car.

This Maybach fancy off-roader concept  is designed to inspire the younger generation and at the same time remember the spirit of Virgil Abloh who always fights for the status quo and re-presents the rules of aspirational design. The nature of the X-Factor as We could be seen on the Project Maybach results not only from its astonishing size (nearly six meters long), and its characteristics, but above all from its unique contrast finishing touches as well.

This two-door Maybach off-road coupe has very traditional proportions and lines with a large front end and a slightly undersized rear end. Next up is the old-school coupe high above the ground with small steel wheels and thick tires. The matte tan paint color was splashed all over the ornaments, such as skid plates, bolt-on fender flares, stone rails, to the bolster cage with roof basket.

There is additional storage and equipment in special compartments around the cab. Unfortunately, Mercedes-Benz does not reveal yet this fancy off-roder' specific specifications especially regarding its performance and range.
That's not entirely surprising, since this seems to be solely a design exercise, and don't expect to see a production model anytime soon. But it does not rule out the possibility that this special car will change its ownership status one day in future, if there are serious wealthy enthusiasts who had made an agreement with the German car maker to swap it with a certain amount of money. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | MERCEDES-BENZ | ID.MOTOR1 | AUTOBLOG | HIGHNOBIETY ]
