Aptera, super-efficient electric-powered car

Unique ONES An American automotive startup company named Aptera has just launched a very promising electric car for the market. However, actually they are not a new company, the company has been established since 2005, but they went bankrupt in 2011. It was only in 2019 that Aptera was reformed by its original founders.

And now they are ready to introduce their first car to the public which is named Aptera Paradigm. The electric car is claimed to be able to go as far as 1,600 km on a single full charge. The car carries a sleek and futuristic three-wheeled vehicle design with a shape similar to a wingless aircraft fuselage, and it seems to be the reason behind its small drag coefficient, which is 0.13.

The main purpose of the Aptera electric-powered vehicle was created to eliminate carbon emissions that have been produced by conventional-fueled combustion engines. However, when the electricity itself still comes from a source that uses coal as its fuel, perhaps the idea of zero emissions is still not fully realized.

The Aperta will be available in several variants that are differentiated based on the cruise capability. At the very bottom, it uses a 25 kWh battery which can last up to 402 km on a single charge. In addition there is also a 40 kWh model with a range of 644 km and a 60 kWh battery for a distance of up to 966 km.

The highest variant of the Aptera electric-powered vehicle is equipped with a large battery with a capacity of 100 kWh plus a solar panel on the roof that can absorb energy to provide an additional 64 km of mileage in the sun. The number of solar panels can be increased to be placed on the hood of the car so that there is an additional 38.8 km of mileage with solar panels alone.

Various motor drive configurations will be offered depending on the variant. No horsepower and torque figures are provided yet, but front-wheel drive models can typically hit 96 kph in 5.5 seconds. Meanwhile, this three-wheel drive car only takes 3.5 seconds to reach it. The key to the performance of this electric car is the fact that the 100 kWh battery of the Aptera electric car weighs less than 1,000 kg.

In addition, with fast charging, in one hour it can be charged to be able to go as far as 800 km. In other words, on the variant equipped with a battery with a capacity of 100 kWh, the distance is believed to be up to 1,000 miles (1,600 km) per charge. But efficiency is only part of the whole story, because Aptera Paradigm is also equipped with the ability to create its own energy.
2021 Aptera Paradigm is reportedly going to start production in 2021, and the company has received orders from the US consumers with an order fee of the US. $100. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/3nM89Hl)
The method applied is almost the same, namely by attaching solar panels to the roof of the car along with the front and rear hood. In a day (assuming the weather is not cloudy and the sun shines so brightly) Aptera Paradigm's solar panels are claimed to be able to produce electrical energy equivalent to a distance of 64 miles (± 103 km).

Of course this can mean that the Aptera Paradigm is not a fully solar powered car and still needs to be charged as usual, but at least the presence of these solar panels can help eliminate the worry that the car's energy will not be enough to reach the destination, or better known as cool "range anxiety".
Aptera Paradigm is reportedly going to start production in 2021, and from now on, Aptera has received orders from consumers in the United States with an order fee of the US. $100 or Rp.1.4 million which is refundable if the purchase is canceled. The official price tag is in the range of $25,900 (or around Rp.365 million) - $46,900 (or Rp.648 million). Of course, the cheapest price is not for a capacity of 1,000 kWh, but for 250 kWh. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | APTERA.US | FORBES.COM | GREENMATTER.COM ]
