The purpose of installing these sensors is to provide sensitivity and accuracy to the car for everything that happens around it. In other words, the various sensors are able to provide information in real-time, considering that future cars must be smart that are able to think, analyze the surrounding conditions and can drive by itself like a robot.
At glance the design of Sony Vision-S looks similar to the Porsche, especially on the headlights, but its overall front view looks a bit like the Lucid Motors' Air car made. (Picture from: http://bit.ly/385PDSQ)

It seems we still have to wait a while longer to find out whether Sony intends to bring the Vision-S into the mass-production. In addition to the sedan, Sony also plans to make SUV models. This makes sense because the SUV demand trends around the world are showing an increase.
Later, with the presence of sedan and SUV products, this shows the seriousness of Sony to expand its business in the automotive sector. This means that in the future consumers will also benefit from the presence of a variety of electric car brands available on the market.
And at the end of the press conference at CES, Sony also briefly launched the latest logo for their PlayStation 5 gaming platform which will be released in the near future. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SONY | THE VERGE]
