Honda Augmented Driving Concept introduced at the CES 2020

At the CES 2020 which took place in Las Vegas starts on January 7 to 10, 2020, Honda, one of the Japanese vehicle manufacturers, revealed what they were carrying, an AI system that connects the vehicle and driver called the Honda Augmented Driving Concept. Not much detail was revealed about the future vehicle applied system except for the steering wheel system was more focused, and the simply vehicle's image was designed to "respond to cultural shifts to autonomous vehicles."

According to Honda, this vehicle applied future system has eight modes between full and semi-autonomous driving functions, and various sensing units mounted on the vehicle can read user behavior and then adjust to the appropriate mode. Then another technology that Honda wants to show in the vehicle applied future system is a redesigned steering wheel system capability to provide a really new driving experience.

There is a button if the user wants to use the fully autonomous system, but the car will not wait for the driver to give any commands to enter the autonomous mode. And the Augmented Driving Concept is always watching the driver, for example when he sleepy or starts taking photos from the window of the car or taking his hands off the wheel to do something else. If it detects such an event, the car will automatically take over the wheel.

And the driver must knock the steering wheel twice to start the car, push the steering wheel towards the front to increase speed and pull the steering wheel to the rear to slow down the car.  If the driver wants to go faster and according to the car it is not a good idea, then the car will not add speed. Thus there is no concern for suddenly braking happened.

This sophisticated steering wheel has a kind of light that illuminates in the middle. This also means that the Honda Augmented Driving Concept applying vehicle does not equip with a throttle pedal.
According to Honda, in an autonomous future vehicle, the company believes that customers will be able to enjoy mobility in new ways when released from the driving responsibility. At the same time, the users still have the chance to feel the emotion and the sensation of driving.

The overall design of the vehicle cannot be explained, perhaps because it is only used as a platform to show off new technology, though from the picture and video we can see a simple vehicle without a roof, low windshield, large rim, and front with a plastic coating, it was only an illustration to describe the whole system in question.

Besides that, the Japanese company unveiled a wide range of products and ideas for a greener future ranging from Honda Energy Management Concept, aiming to create renewable and convenient ways to collect and store energy. It consists of the Honda Mobile Power Pack, which is a portable and swappable battery with a capacity of 1 kWh or more.

The Honda Mobile Power Pack could be used for various purposes, in a universal format. The power pack can also be fitted to the Honda ESMO Concept (which stands for Electric Smart Mobility), which is a motorized personal mobility device designed to help disabled or elderly people get around. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | TECH SPORT | MOTOR ILLUSTRATED | AUTOCAR INDIA]
