Its presence is also a substitute for their existing i8 series today. And reported that if the supercar which no have name yet was in the top of list of the BMW's M division.

"If you are an engineer, once in your life you would want to make a super-sports car. I think partial electrification will allow that," said BMW board member responsible for product development, Klaus Frohlich.

"If we have an electric drive unit that is very compact and very strong, then the carbon fiber chassis, for example, i8's and has a high-performance engine, then you can combine it into a real performance package," he added later.

It's too early to talk about the power produced, but this newest BMW supercar is expected to have a power of around 700 hp. This can be easily places it above the M8 which is equipped with 600 hp. This also makes it more expensive than the existing flagship GT and i8 series.

"M will also be an electric car in the future, but we will also work hard on the partial electric sector in this M car," said Klaus Frohlich.

"This is because they not only need acceleration in a straight line. They have to drive corners and race tracks, so heavy weight is still a problem and these electric vehicles still have serious problems regarding power coverage." he said as the closing.

In conclusion, BMW is now preparing to launch a sports model with a hybrid/plug-in engine and light construction is the first step for BMW's M division to use an electric engine and presenting high-performance cars without emissions is their main focus.
