This car has an instinct to better understand its users
Five or six years ago, maybe nobody would have thought that the development of the automotive industry would be discussed in annual technology shows like CES. But now, car manufacturers don't even hesitate to show off their latest innovations in more specific events. This is done by one of the French automotive manufacturers, Peugeot which features an interesting concept car at the Mobile World Congress 2017.

Yes, on that occasion, the French manufacturer revealed a four-seater compact sedan concept named the Peugeot Instinct Concept. The car is the brainchild of their automotive designers for a future car. And the car's body features a shooting-brake design that is claimed to have timeless strokes and has an active aerodynamic feature. Meanwhile these Peugeot Instinct Concept moves by using a hybrid plug-in drivetrain so that it is claimed to be capable of sending 300 hp of power to its drive wheels.

The choice of the name "Instinct" is not without reason; because this concept car does really have an instinct and is able to understand the desires and mood of its users. Same as with other future concept cars, this car has also been equipped with an autonomous driving system.
In total there are four driving modes offered when you drive with it, which consists of two manual modes (Drive Boost or Drive Relax) and two automatic modes (Autonomous Sharp or Autonomous Soft). Each mode can be activated manually, or automatically based on the car's instinct.
The secret lies in the system integration of the Samsung Artik platform that is cloud-based, allowing the car to retrieve data from connected devices. For example, after your fitness session at the gym, the Instinct Concept will read the data collected by your smartwatch, then automatically activate the Autonomous Soft mode so that you can relax while on drive because this car knows you are already exhausted on your previous activities.
The next day, when you are on your way to work, the Instinct Concept will again read data on the smartwatch and conclude that yesterday's sports session is still not enough to reach the weekly target. As a result, the system will advise you to park a little further from the usual location so you can take time to jog.
This is just a little example of the potential that the Instinct Concept has. Because the smartwatch is not the only connected device that can read by the system. Here's another example, you have a sophisticated refrigerator that is connected to a cloud network, it is not impossible that the Instinct Concept can find out that your food stock is running low, then suggest and present a route to the nearest supermarket.
Peugeot Instinct Concept with augmented freedom also does not forget the aspect of the car owners freedom to make decisions without having to be limited by the automated system offered. The easiest example, while on autonomous driving mode, its users can still control or choose an alternative route via a touch screen embedded in the center of the dashboard.
Speaking of dashboards, Peugeot has designed a responsive interior for these Instinct Concept. Responsive means that you can adapt to driving mode; so while on the automatic steering mode is activated, the steering wheel, the instrument panel along with the gas pedal and the brakes will be pulled in to provide more space in the cabin.
Of course this is all just a concept, but it is still a very interesting concept, especially if Peugeot managed to implement it into a car for general consumers in the next few years. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | PEUGEOT | THE VERGE | AUTOEXPRESS]
