Waiting for the series production of electric-powered Bollinger B1

While many are looking forward to Tesla and Ford's plans to build electric-powered SUVs, but a startup electric vehicle manufacturer called Bollinger Motors has just launched their first electric-powered SUV.

Yes, in early 2018, the company planned a new version of electric-powered utility vehicles with a body design form resembling an old Land Rover named Bollinger B1. And reportedly, this car is claimed to be the world's first all-electric, all-wheel drive, and off/on road sport utility vehicles.

This SUV will display a modern and futuristic impression, because it has a glass roof that can be unloaded. Yes, as many as six sections of glass are can be arranged to form a roof and also can be removed (including side windows and rear glass with the exception of the windshield).

In addition, doors can also be dismantled for effective ways to add the pleasure of driving in the open air. Bollinger Motors says that B1 will provide a choice of 60 kWh or 120 kWh batteries with a range of mileage between 193 km and 322 km. When combined with its 2 electric motors located at front and rear, the B1 electric SUV able to spew power up to 360 horsepower, and allowing it to accelerate from rest to a speed of 100 km/h in just about 4.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 204 km/h.

Charging times vary, with Level 3 charging requiring just two hours, but Bollinger claims that 120 kWh pack is large enough that you'd rarely need to fully deplete or fully recharge it. The B1 will also be approved for flat-towing, with the motors charging the batteries along the way. Bollinger B1 has a weight of about 1,770 kg and towing or load capacity about 2.767 kg, with dimensions of 3.81 m length, 1.8 m width, 1.87 m heigh and has a 50/50 weight distribution.

Bollinger says that as they progress towards series production, they have over 19,000 reservations. And although these are not pre-orders yet, the figure shows that the B1 has managed to earn the response company founder Robert Bollinger was hoping for.
