Remember the awesome four-rotor Mazda 787B race car that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans 27 years ago and then was set to run the famous French circuit during a demonstration in the 2011? Well, it turns out that's the 787B’s appearance for the last time. As we all know that the Mazda 787B was a rotary powered car with a four-rotor Wankel engine.

And back to 2015, a Coventry graduate Chris Denn's aim his project was simple: he set out to design a supercar that was aesthetically different to anything else on the market. The NR4's distinctive design isn't held back by brand heritage.

Sourcing power from naturally aspirated four-rotor engine, the car's intent is also to bring rotary powertrain back into the limelight. The engine is mounted to a carbon steel spaceframe chassis and the car's body is clad in carbon fiber panels.
Without the now common driver assistance features typical of modern day vehicles, the driver is once again back in complete control. This means that the NR4 can deliver a truly raw driving experience, which is refreshing in a world dominated by driver aids and technology.
Although this is only a study of design concepts which do not have certainty will be realized in the form of prototypes or even built in real-form.
