This is an American made 1250 hp-electric powered hypercar concept

Speaking of an electric-powered hypercar, maybe we will go directly to the Rimac Concept One, an electric-powered hypercar made by Croatian company named RIMAC Automobili.

Yes, these Rimac electric-powered supercar has embarrassed Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 in a drag race. Rimac Concept One is quite phenomenal with a powerful power of 1,088 hp and torque reaches 1,600 Nm.

Indeed for the drag race, the electric-powered supercar or hypercar always on the top because they have super large amount of initial torque and the results is initial driving power will be remarkable too. Although usually in a long distance will be overtaken by the conventional fossil-fueled hypercar.

In addition to Rimac, we all have also heard of other electric hypercar concepts such as Lamborghini Terzo Millennio, Faraday Future Zero1, or even the newest Singaporean electric-powered hypercar concept named Vanda Dendrobium D1.

Meanwhile in America today is also being developed other electric-powered hypercar. Not Tesla Model S P100D which has the power of 760 hp that mentioned capable of defeating the European supercars, but Tachyon Speed

Tachyon itself is derived from the name of a hypothetical particle that always moves faster than light. Tachyon Speed is a All-new electric-powered hypercar that has been developed since summer of 2012. The car was developed by Rice Advanced Engineering Systems and Research (or RAESR, pronounced 'racer') based in Southern California.

On the paper specifically, this hypercar concept is really amazing. By using six electric motors capable of producing a combined output of over 1,250 hp and an incredible instant torque of 3,650 pound-feet (4,948 Nm).

It is no longer a casual beat will be felt now, but the devil's pounding will be happen as the car accelerated. Just look at the car's weight of 1.338 kg because it uses carbon fiber material for all of its body so as to make its drag coefficient is 0.39.

RAESR claimed that this car will have acceleration 0-60 mph (0-96 kph) in less than 3 seconds and 0-120 mph (0-193 kph) in less than 7 seconds. Its highest speed reaches 240 mph (386 kph) and with a carbon ceramic brakes that is used to stop the car's speed. If you see the top speed numbers, it is still less than the Bugatti Veyron, Chiron or Agera RS, due to typically electric car will experience symptoms of power shortages when driving at high speed.

When at a speed of 150 mph (241 kph), then this car will produce downforce of 400 pounds in low downforce mode or more than 1,000 pounds when in high-downforce configuration. To achieve that number, Tachyon Speed uses an adjustable active rear wing and four fixed front wings.

The Tachyon Speed’s cockpit is designed in the style of a fighter jet canopy, with the driving position in the centre of the car similar to the F1-inspired Caparo T1.

As in electric cars in general today still have limited cruising range, and this becomes a very important issue for Tachyon. The RAESR says that Tachyon Speed can travel more than 150 miles (241 kilometers) in one single battery charging while used in urban traffic conditions.
But remember, this car is still a concept and it's too early to tell whether Tachyon Speed really goes into the production line. Let's wait, is it just a concept like other electric supercar or hypercar or will be produced like Tesla. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | RAESR | AUTOEXPRESS | AUTOBLOG]
