Weird AUTOBOT - There's a new Autobot character in the fifth installment of the Michael Bay-directed movie titled Transformers: The Last Knight, named Sqweeks, built based on the Vespa VBB. The movie was released on June 23, 2017, simultaneously worldwide. Sqweeks plays a funny role in the film, which centers on the battle between robots formed from various automotive models. As previously discussed in the article about the new Decepticon figure named Mohawk, based on the Confederate P51 Combat Fighter.

Sqweeks serves as a companion to the female lead actress, Isabela Moner, supporting the Autobots under the command of Optimus Prime in their fight against the Decepticons, who want to destroy human civilization on Earth. Sqweeks is an Autobot formed from the classic Italian scooter, so although it takes the shape of a humanoid robot, some parts of its body appear rusty. Additionally, one of its legs relies on a stand as a prosthetic limb.

The Vespa VBB, which serves as the base for Sqweeks, is a Piaggio-made classic scooter in production between 1958-1967. The VBB uses a single-cylinder, 2-stroke engine with a capacity of 150 cc. Notable features include rounded and large side covers. Both sides of the side cover are equipped with an aluminum list in the middle. However, the handlebar that holds the main lights tends to be slim.

The Vespa VBB is a classic 1960s scooter already equipped with a 4-speed manual transmission. The main light was enlarged but remained rounded. The front fender is made of two sections joined in the middle, making it still clearly visible. This fender model continued to be used in more modern products like the P series model produced in the 1980s.

Additionally, the VBB model served as the basis for Vespa's 2-stroke engines for the next three decades, including the ignition model with a 3-coil stator. Today, the Vespa VBB is still highly sought after for its durability, and many are still roadworthy. Many of its components can still be substituted with 1980s Vespa products. However, the price after restoration is substantial, reaching up to $5,370 or about Rp. 71.5 million.
