The production version of KTM RC16 MotoGP up for sale in 2018

KTM finally offer the production version motorcycle of RC16 MotoGP. But not for highway use, the replica was only offered as a track-only model for "Racing for Fun" customers. KTM calls it as the customer-spec models, and there are six variants to be made.

KTM's CEO Stefan Pierer told a German media Speedweek, KTM being build at least 100 units of RC16 consumer-spec. And the company will make it as similar as possible to the MotoGP models.

The motorcycles will use a 90-degree V4 engine with a capacity of 1,000 cc, is the same as the MotoGP version. However, the consumer version was able to burst the power around 240 horsepower, slightly below the MotoGP version has the power up to 270 horsepower.

Although it later became the most luxurious track-day motorcycle, KTM promised to try to suppress the price in order to remain affordable for consumers who want it. The model will be marketed in 2018 and claimed would be more cheaper than the production version of Honda RC213V-S has a price about US. $202,000 (or approx Rp.2.7 billion).
"I wish to offer the RC16 racer in a lower price than Honda's products. I think it cost about US. $104.74 thousand (or Rp.1.4 billion) to $127.18 thousand (or Rp.1.7 billion) alone." Pierer promises.
