Here it is brand-new racing car prototype of Cadillac

Cadillac has been absent 14 years in the motorsport world. But suddenly, Cadillac decided to return to the race track with the latest prototype, namely All-new Cadillac  DPi-V.R. This car will be raced for the first time at the new Daytona Prototype class international (DPi) in the IMSA WeatherTech Sports Car Championship 2017 racing event.

According to this American car manufacturer, the race car equipped with a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter dry-sump V8 engine, which is claimed capable of spraying power up to 600 horsepower. In addition, a shift sequential gearbox operated by paddles along viscous mechanical limited-slip differential, capable of delivering a thrust to the rear wheels evenly.

As one of the requirements join the race in a new class of DPi, the manufacture of racing car chassis must go through four recommended constructors, namely Dallara, Onroak Automotive, ORECA or Riley Multimatic.

And the chassis of the All-new Cadillac DPi-V.R made by Dallara with a weight of 2,050 lbs. Then, the manufacturers can equip the worked body, engine, and electronics that reflect specific styling and technology of each individual brand.

This is different from a standard LMP2 class which allows each manufacturer to build their own car chassis. Including the engine and the electronics package together with a specification of their bodywork.
Although the present with a prototype racing car, there are some design borrowed from the ATS-V and CTS-V models, such as the line of the body angle, V-Performance wheels, Brembo disc brakes.
