Rare ONES Not all the best supercar, manufactured by well-known brands. In fact, some of the best supercars created by the mysterious and bizarre brands or tuners from Europe or the United States. One of them is the Isdera Commendatore 112i, a supercar that was born two decades ago, called mysterious and strange because it only has some pictures that had been documented, and only one unit prototype was successfully created.

Isdera AG (Ingenieurbüro für Styling) itself is a small automotive company based in Leonberg (before move to Hildesheim), Germany, although not as big as the Bugatti or Lamborghini, Isdera has managed to create a stir (though not big enough) in the world of supercars in the 1990s.
Well in 1993, the mentioned German auto company is launched the Isdera Commendatore 112i, and known as the fruit of thought of the lead engineer and owner of Isdera, Eberhard Schulz and his son. The plans, each unit of the Commendatore 112i to be sold at a price of $450,000 (those price numbers were very high at that time).
For its design, Isdera designed the Commendatore 112i similar to the Porsche 917, perhaps because of the rear overhang and its long tail. (Picture from: ConceptCarz) |
Unfortunately, Isdera itself bankrupt later, after only 1 unit Commendatore (an Italian word means Commander) were successfully produced by Schulz and his son.😢 For its design, the automaker designed the Commendatore 112i similar to the Porsche 917, perhaps because of the rear overhang and its long tail.

Commendatore 112i has a weight just 1,450 kg and can accelerate from 0-96 kph in just 4.7 seconds, and has topspeed about 342 kph. This is thanks to the performance of a V12 engine of Mercedes-Benz with a capacity of 6,000 cc, which 'only' capable of producing about 402 hp (some said that's small figure for a V12 engine) and combined with 6 speed manual transmission system.

But the main advantages of the Commendatore is the car's technology, which has spent up to €4 million for its RnD. Like 2 pairs of gull-wing door type, its chassis is able to go up and down depending on the speed with an electronic system, and the automatic air brake, and at the time is said the first in the world.
