Goodyear introdued a spherical tire concept

Goodyear has a new tire concept shown at the Geneva Auto Show 2016. They created a new spherical tire concept, unlike most of the tires that resembles a donut (a circle with a hole in the middle), and was named the Eagle-360.

This unique tire is projected to welcome the presence of autonomous cars, which is predicted to sell 85 million units per year by 2035 to come. And Goodyear's tire technologies considered will play an important role when the interaction  between the car and driver is reduced.

Eagle-360 has a spherical shape is believed to contribute to the safety and maneuverability and is ready to accept the demands of autonomous cars in the future. The tires could move in any direction, even without the need to deflact the car to the parking lot in order to save space.

It uses very advance of embedded tire technology, in which the tires are able to adjust againts road conditions. Moreover, the spherical tires can also customize the security features to keep the car did not slip.

Surface of the tire that touches the ground be adjusted when the rains down, it supported by the technology that makes the surface of tire become more flexible when wet. Furthermore the Eagle-360 is packed with sensors that collect information on road conditions and then share that information with other drivers. Ideally, the tires could also communicate with road authorities to inform them about potential problems.
To connect the tire with the car body, Goodyear Eagle-360 rely on the magnetic levitation technology, similar to the technology used by the trains, it claimed to improve the comfort of car's passengers and also could reduce noise. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | WORLDCARFANS]
