The airbag helmet for cyclists

If not careful, riding a bicycle can be fatal -- especially if you fell and hit the head. This is the main reason in a number of countries, the cyclists are required to wear helmets. However, as technology develops, the scientists continue to explore a more practical way for cyclists to stay safe.

A Swedish company named Hövding Sverige a step further by creating a collar cushion that could turn into an airbag helmet immediately protects the head if you fall. As quoted from Katu, on Tuesday, November 17, 2015, the the tool is similar to the airbag as one of the safety features found on four-wheeled vehicles, but the difference is in the form of a collar.

According to Fredrik Carling, CEO of the Malmö-based company, the idea comes from two Swedish students who want an additional choice in doing their cycling hobby. He said, "the idea is a little crazy, even almost unthinkable."

Its use is quite simple, plug collar, pull up the zipper and turn on the activation button -- and the cyclists can travel without having to wear a conventional helmet. Kelevra.

Carling said the company asked for the help of a stuntman to simulate thousands of possible accidents to determine the movement of the human body when an accident happened while cycling. He said, "This tool can prevent you from bruises, may also be able to prevent paralysis and avoided the user from severe head injury -- in the worst scenario saving human lives."
After doing research for 7 years, the result is a helmet does not look like a conventional helmet that worn while cycling, snowboarding, skiing, or even just a walk in the city center. The 'Airbag Helmet' is sold at a price US. $300 (worth approximately Rp. 4.1 million).

Let's see the video of the 'airbag helmet' test was carried by Hövding Sverige.
"I believe that in the next 10 years, a bike helmet will not look like this now. And the 'airbag helmet' will be something usual. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | HOVDING.COM | KATU.COM]
