From a screenshot of the patent submission form uploaded by Chris Doane Automotive shows that General Motors has patented the name Corvette E-Ray. There is no detailed explanation about E-Ray drivertrain, its form was just no one knows for sure. It's nothing, because the Corvette itself had reportedly is building a central-engined car, which means that its form would be different from the current generation Corvette Stingray. Before the E-Ray alone, the Corvette has been patented two other names.

The other names in question is Zora and Manta Ray, but the news about these two names disappear like dust in the wind. If I may guess, the most potent of course the Corvette with hybrid engine, because they only learn the Chevrolet Volt hybrid system and set it up to suit the character of Corvette. Besides that, in early last month, the company also has patented modular hybrid powertrain and rear drive unit.
But considering GM is planning a collaboration with Honda, we got to thinking, what a hybrid system would resemble the NSX? Or even GM studying Tesla's electrical system? No one knows for sure. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTONETMAGZ.NET]
