Is this the cockroach ancestor?

Lived about 100 million years ago, these findings seem to have similarities with modern cockroaches. Have a size below one centimeter, this unique animal has wings to fly just like cockroaches or mantis.

The ancient cockroach included in Manipulator modificaputis that finally classified as a family of cockroaches and called Manipulatoridae. The species is found trapped in amber (fossilized tree resin) that are predators and hunt at night. Impression of the ancient cockroach may be frightening.

This specimen has a head that can move with big eyes and a neck long enough to be able to hunt. This ancient cockroach also has a small body and wings, legs and mouth parts that stake, and eyes that are at the top of the head.

Ancient cockroach was discovered at a mine in Noije Bum, Myanmar by German researcher named Ziggi Ellenberger. Initially, scientists suspect that this specimen is the mantis. But thanks to the explanation of Dr. Peter Vrsansky of the Geological Institute of Bratislava and the Slovak Academy of Sciences, that view changed.

"This little monster is a quiet hunter, able to run very fast, able to fly suddenly, and has very long legs," said Vrsansky.

As reported by New Scientist on Thursday, April 30, 2015, at the time of the dinosaurs there are many types of cockroaches predators. Cockroach ancient predators that continue to evolve and is now leaving only one type of derivative, the mantises.

Mantises have the front feet characteristics such as Manipulator modificaputis and a close relative of the cockroach. Through this discovery, Vrsansky suggest the revisions of Dictyoptera classification, super-order that includes the nation of thermite, cockroaches, and mantises. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | NEW SCIENTIST]
