The 2nd concept of Veloster-based mid-engine

Hyundai more incentive to show their seriousness in working the sports car segment. Today, they released a new sport hatchback concept named 'Hyundai RM15 Concept' a Veloster based with the engine position in the middle of the chassis (midship).

At first glance this car is similar to the last year's Veloster Midship concept. And the RM15 Concept has been diet that makes its current weight just 1,260 kg or 195 kg lighter than Veloster. This is achieved thanks to the application of aluminum spaceframe and body panels of carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP).

The distribution of front and rear weight with a ratio of 43:57 which is produced by placing a four-cylinder T-GDI engine that has a capacity of 2.0-liter in between the seat and the rear axle. This engine is capable of spewing power up to 300 hp and torque of 383 Nm, which is combined with a 6-speed manual transmission that gives it the ability to accelerate from 0-100 kph in just 4.7 seconds.

There are also present the WRC element through the roll-cage protective cabin, aluminum double wishbone suspension and 19-inches monoblock alloy wheels. Its aerodynamics improved with the large sized engine's cooling air holes in the front of rear tires and wings.
