In reflecting on this innovative approach, John B. Rogers, President and co-founder of Local Motors, remarked, "If Henry Ford had Twitter and internet access, he would have designed the car in a different way," highlighting the transformative impact of modern connectivity on automotive design.
The Rally Fighter is a fusion of a baja truck, a dune buggy, and a sports car, resulting in a truly unique vehicle on a global scale. The wide tires, substantial ground clearance, low roofline, and a front end that strikes a balance between playful and serious, along with distinctive decals, all contribute to its image as a sophisticated adult toy.

The genesis of the Rally Fighter's design can be traced back to a 2009 internet event, where Sangho Kim of Pasadena, California emerged as the winner. Various contributors participated in designing different components, such as the doors. Impressively, the Rally Fighter took a mere 18 months to go from design to production, a process five times faster than conventional car manufacturing.

Despite its hefty weight of approximately 1,451 kg, the Rally Fighter boasts impressive power. Its formidable appearance caught the attention of moviegoers when it played a role in the 2014 film 'Transformers 4: Age of Extinction,' directed by Michael Bay. (Wanna see another cars).

In a bid to shed some weight, carbon fiber components are strategically incorporated into the car's major sections, including the nose, back, and floor. Additionally, a vinyl material is used to wrap the exterior, making it 5 kg lighter than if covered with traditional paint.
The Rally Fighter has not only made waves in the United States but has also found its way to markets in Kazakhstan, Russia, and the United Kingdom. Local Motors aims to sell 2,000 units of the Rally Fighter before embarking on their next project, further solidifying their place as pioneers in the world of crowdsourced automotive design. As the Rally Fighter continues to captivate enthusiasts globally, it stands as a testament to the limitless possibilities that arise when innovation meets collective creativity.
