Future lightweight car design

Not only automotive companies which show off their newest product at the Geneva Motor Show 2014. Students from the Helsinki Metropolia University of Applied Sciences who has worked closely with UPM-The Biofore Company did not want to miss to show off by introducing a lightweight car concept future at one of the world's largest automotive event.

Biofore companies position themselves as mentors these students to produce environmentally friendly cars. The concept is applied differently from global car manufacturers. This concept car was then given the name Biofore is an eco-friendly 4 passengers city car with an aerodynamic exterior with glass and equiped with a pair of unique suicide doors-type. Biofore also built with wooden material for its floor compartment and door panels.

Not satisfied with the exterior, they installing UPM biocomposite material for the front bumper, side, dashboard and interior panels. On the engine, this Biofore uses a diesel engine that has a capacity of 1.2 liters and it fueled with BioVerno.

According to UPM, as reported from Worldofcarfans, on Thursday, March 6, 2014, the use of biocomposites component is able to reduce the weight of 150 kg, and lighter than the other materials.

UPM's Vice President of Brand and Communications Elisa Nilsson said the development has many differences from the current car, especially in terms of material. "The concept car Biofore potential for using biomaterials materials.
