Waiting for Saleen Revolutionary supercar

Long time Mustang tuner Saleen looks to be taking a different route. As has been rumored that they are building a new supercar to be prepared and is expected to be launched in 2015 or 2016. It proves that they have not been forgotten how to make a supercar. According to the company founder, Steve Saleen says that the latest supercar named Saleen S8 currently being prepared and is expected to be launched in 2015 or 2016.

"We have not forgotten supercar genre. We're working on what we will call the S8 and the continuation of the American supercar," he said
in Los Angeles Auto Show 2013 as quoted from Autoevolution on Thursday, December 28, 2013.

Although it has confirmed the middle of building a new supercar, but the Saleen is still reluctant and refused to reveal in detail their latest supercar makes. Saleen only provide leak if the newest super car will likely be a refinement of the Saleen S5S Raptor Concept car that has been born since 2008 or an EV maybe.

"I’m not prepared to give all the details of our electric vehicle project yet. But I can tell you that it is unlike anything currently in the marketplace… This vehicle will be revolutionary in its aesthetics and mechanics," he said further.

As it is known, that the S5S Raptor Concept car was born with a supercharged V8 engine which has a capacity of 5.0-liters. The drivetrain is also capable of spewing power up to 560 bhp with peak torque of 853 Nm. With such an abundant energy, S5S Raptor concept car is able to take you to accelerate from zero to 100 kph (62 mph) in just 3.2 seconds before reaching a top speed of more than 321 kph (200 mph).

We're not entirely sure just yet, as Saleen is still keeping all the details under wraps. While this new "revolutionary" vehicle does sound promising, we’ll be keeping a close eye out on any more news from Saleen. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AUTOEVOLUTION | AUTOBLOG]
