Too much sex kill it

For many species of mammals, sex is not just a reproduction but also leisure activities, the means to build a bond, relieve stress, and others. However, for the black-tailed Antechinus, a marsupial type animal that resemble rats, sex activities can lead to death.
The black-tailed antichinus' sex sessions can last for to 14 hours at a time, with both the males and females romping from mate to mate. (Picture from: http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/)
When the reproductive period, the males of black-tailed Antechinus that have sex with a female with unusual frequency, very often. In a short time this species want to ensure their genes conservation through reproduction activities. And it has deadly impact.

"During the breeding season, stress hormones rise sharply, often causes the body to shut down. All males died before their children were born," said Andrew Baker from Queensland University of Technology (QUT).

Black-tailed Anthechinus has the scientific name Anthechinus Arktos. Description as a new species was published in the Zootaxa journal.

Baker, as described in the release on the QUT website, reveals that this species differs from others because Antechinus has a yellow hue on the eye and rump and tail and black legs. And Baker collected this species with trap method, using oats and peanut butter for bait. Animals were trapped and then observed to determine the characteristics of novelty. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | NEWSER | THIS IS MONEY]
