The Peruvian mummies were found

Two mummies whose age is estimated to be more than a thousand years is found in the pre-Inca ancient cemetery in the outskirts of Lima, Peru, in October 24, 2013. Paz explains about the mummy of a child that his tomb was found intact, complete with trinkets and sacrificial offerings. It is the third intact finding among more than 70 tombs have been excavated since 1981, when researchers began working at Huaca. Huaca is a pyramid-shaped temple built on an area of ​​2.5 hectares between the years 100 and 600 AD (anno Domini).

In 2010, archaeologists discovered the tomb of a woman buried with her four children. In 2008 found a mummy of 13-year-old girl. The latest two mummies was unopened where they were found. They will be brought to the laboratory within four to six months to determine the age and sex of each. In the tomb, the researchers also found seven vessels with the cat design that used to drink herb tea, 12 bags of cloth, and debris of three guinea pigs statues.

The mummy excavation project director, Isabel Flores, said that the archaeologists have dug 40 percent of Huaca Pucllana that built during the pre-Hispanic Wari periods. There are about 350 huaca in Lima region, scattered between the buildings and houses.
