Talking about the great man as the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno endless. His well-known figure as the central figure of Indonesia's independence struggle era, he was also close to the automotive world. It can be seen from some of the cars that once he used during his tenure as President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Some time ago, this blog has also been discussing the 10 cars that have been used by him. Well, on this occasion we will discuss the presidential limo once used the first President of the Republic of Indonesia, Soekarno.

Among a number of state vehicles on display at the 7th Otoblitz Indonesia Classic Car Show (OICC-Show) 2013 at the JI-Expo Kemayoran-Jakarta some time ago, there was one which attracted attention, namely the 1962 Imperial Crown-4 Doors hardtop. The car that was mentioned designed by Virgil Exner which is one of the oncoming presidential limo with special abilities.

Seen from the outside, of course, is classified as a luxury car of its time. With a length of about 5.7 m, a width of 2,075 m and 1,443 m high, and this car has a wheelbase of 3.277 meters. In addition to the physical appearance of course elegant, the engine performance of 1962 Imperial Crown-4 Doors Hardtop can not be underestimated.

From its engine specifications, we know that under the car hood there is a Spark-ignition 4 stroke, V8 engine, that made by Chrysler RB series V8 413. Using a carburetor fuel system, the fuel capacity is 87 liters. With a ratio of bore x stroke of 106 mm x 95 mm, the power generated could reach 340 hp @ 4,600 rpm.

It using a 3-speed automatic transmission system. An automatic transmission technology that brought by TorqueFlite A727 models are believed to give a more smooth acceleration. Thus, the passengers inside the cabin can get more comfort compared to other vehicles of the time.

The presidential limo is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) in 9.8 seconds. Well, the maximum speed that can be reached is 195 kph or 121 mph. So it is not surprising that the presidential limo into the fast cars catagories. Especially when considering the ability of other vehicles in the same era.
