Constructed around a lightweight but rigid spaceframe chassis, it is powered by a Ford-sourced EcoBoost 2.0 liter engine that produces 265 horsepower and 270 lb-ft (366 Nm) of torque. Riding on 19-inch wheels and using a six-speed dual-clutch transmission that transfers power to the rear-wheels, 0 to 60 mph (96.56 kph) is clocked under 7 seconds. A V6 engine, which will likely record a faster time, will be offered later on.

DC Design plans to build around 200 units of the Avanti in 2013; if sales meet expectations, production will be increased to a few thousand units in the coming years. The Avanti can also be exported, thanks to its compliance with European emissions regulations. The Avanti looks to be a good start, but its styling needs some work — It isn’t as cohesive at it should be. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | MOTORBEAM | AUTOTRIBUTE]
