Successor of the Volvo's legend

Volvo Concept Coupé ordained as the successor of the Volvo P1800 is one of the three series of designs created by the new company that is Scalable Product Architecture (SPA). The coupé concept was inspired by the current Scandinavian lifestyle and progressive, while absorbing the Volvo typical elegant style.

"Volvo Concept Coupé is not a futuristic dream car. It designed to illustrate the ability of the new architecture Volvo: confident, proportion and design the most prominent." said Volvo's Senior Vice President of Design, Thomas Ingenlath.

The front therefore adopts a wide chrome grille ringed, but the most striking thing is the optical block. These are adopting LED daytime running lights in the form of T that support the look of the vehicle. As at the front, the rear lights also show the LED technology which is now a signature of the new design direction of the brand. The rear light clusters themselves define the ends of the stern while the Swedish manufacturer offers a large diffuser, surrounded by a dual exhaust.

The shade of gray-blue body wants to agree with the proposed Scandinavian firm that wants refined interior. Volvo offers quality materials like the leather covering the dashboard or inserts naturally aged wood. Among the facilities on board, we can find a large touch screen that interacts with an adaptive digital display and a head-up display.

Volvo Concept Coupé is a plug-in hybrid cars with a 4-cylinder, 2.0-liter Drive-E gasoline engine and the electric motor as well as adopting a rear-wheel drive configuration. The harmonious blend so as to make the Volvo Concept Coupé performance equal with a V8 engine car. With total power of 400 hp and over 600 Nm (442 lb-ft) of torque.

Volvo deliberately flaunt their Concept Coupé at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2013 some time ago, and no doubt the concept car suck up a lot of attention of visitors and became one of the stars during the exhibition. Now blowing news that Volvo has plans to put this car into production line but in limited quantities.

According to Autobild, Volvo Concept Coupé has attracted a lot of interest in customers when the car is on display in Frankfurt, thus making the entire board of Volvo directors and executive council considering to make a production version of the Concept Coupé. However, when production began, there has been no further information from Volvo.
