Function of howling for the wolves were more flexible, such as to maintain contact with the herd, helping to unite the flock and as there cares and is concerned for the members outside the nest.
In an attempt to find out the reasons behind the behavior of animals, the researchers began to collect blood samples to measure hormone levels and information about the animals in their environment relationship. Dr Friederike Range adds, the research findings indicate social relationships become stronger reason for the wolves to howl.
It's the reason why was the howl more emotional. The key of all this is a close relationship, such as friendship.
