Mercedes-Benz cointroduced its newest supercar, the SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive. What's interesting about this supercar, is the world's fastest sport sedan with latest electrical technology from Mercedes-Benz.
SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive is a development of the SLS AMG E-CELL is introduced first time in 2010. Now, Mercedes-Benz developed an Electric Vehicle (EV) technology on the basis of the SLS AMG Coupé is currently in the process of entering the production line.
SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive car uses 4 capacity of 60 kWh electric motor located near each wheel, and has a total power of 751 hp (552 kW) and torque of 1,000 Nm, accelerates from 0 to 100 kph (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds, with a top speed of 250 kph (155 mph). High performance is not much different from the SLS AMG GT which can accelerate from 0-100 kph in 3.6 seconds.
SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive technology development supported by Mercedes-AMG Formula One, and brought the Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) technology that utilizes the car's kinetic energy as a source of electric motor drive.
There are also a form of charging units called an optional 22-kW quick-charge station, which with these components can recharge car batteries quickly (3-4 hours) in the public depots. If no component is the battery charging process can be up to 20 hours. Once the electric SLS is full of juice, Mercedes claims a maximum range of 249 km (155 miles), although honking on the thing no doubt rapidly decreases that number.
Mercedes-AMG announced that on Friday, June 7, 2012 the electric AMG super sports car is capable of completing a single lap at the legendary Nurburgring track in just 7:56.234. "Mercedes-AMG is the first manufacturer to be able to surround the Nordschleife in under eight minutes with a production version of the electric car," wrote in a Mercedes-AMG statement as reported by Edmunds, on Tuesday (06/11/2013).
With awesome performance and luxurious exterior and high-performance SLS AMG electric coupé will be sold at a price of U.S. $ 538,500 or Rp. 5.5 billion, and go on sale in June 2013 in Germany.
