The Big-name Successor

It is no secret that Ferrari is developing a successor to the iconic variants, Enzo. Is a hyper car codenamed F150 which forwards names of the Ferrari Enzo variants. New Enzo is equipped with a variety of packages that are commonly used in Formula One racing cars.

New Ferrari Enzo has engine power reaches nearly 900 horsepower, with a weight of just 1,279 kilograms. Ferrari further asserted, that the F150 would be more akin to a race car, but still legally be used on the highway.

Compared to the rival McLaren P1, Ferrari F150 is designed with a body using carbon fiber materials. Ferrari also said the design of the car body aerodynamic factors are taken into account, in order to gain experience riders like bringing F1 car on the streets. Ferrari F150 concept still present from 2005 Enzo variant, which developed from the FXX models. F150 with base models using the monocoque carbon fiber material, so this car has a weight of 70 kg (20%) lighter than the Enzo. For the engine, the car was wearing the V12 models, but also with an electric motor plus lithium ion battery pack so that the car is included in the Hybrid Supercar category.

Ferrari has exposed this newly developed hybrid supercar with a V-12 engine under the hood that is expected to reduce the CO2 emission by 40%. The generated 740 hp is enough to run the 1,279 kg supercar. To aid this car with an extra boost of 150 hp, Ferrari designers are planning to couple the engine with an electric motor. It is expected that it can achieve the raise in acceleration from zero to 100 kph within only 3 seconds, and 7 seconds to raise the acceleration from zero to 200 kph. It looks really competitive as compared to other competitive supercars.

Amedeo Felisa, Ferrari CEO said, "New Enzo will also use the HY-KERS system, as well as on the F1 cars. With KERS, the car's performance can be boosted to get better acceleration." Just like the F1 car, on the driver's seat will be made fixed and formed according to the body shape of consumer who purchase it. The driver will sit upright with feet slightly up as well as a car racer style.
Pedals and steering rods can also be customized. Steering column will reportedly adopt F1-style, with control buttons are embedded in it. With this model, the weight of the car could save up to 90 percent. And the V12 engine is at the center of the car, near the rear axle line. Double-clutch gearbox and differential design that allows the transmission mounted low, so that the crankshaft slightly below the rear wheels.

Flavio Manzoni, the design director of Ferrari said, "I wanted a front end still inspired by F1. So, how to do it? Of course it’s not easy, but this is the most exciting project in the world! There’s no comparison. This is the pinnacle of everything, of the aesthetics and technology of Ferrari. This always had to be a masterpiece."

Roberto Fedeli, the technical director of Ferrari said, "We want to transfer the technology from racing to production and this is the way to do it. The concept of these cars is to put together all the innovations that we have. Not just one or two components, but everything that might become a component on our GT cars. They’re simply a forecast of the technology you’ll see across the range in the future."
