The Pinnacle Unleashed: Unveiling the First Brazilian Supercar, DoniRosset

Unfinished AUTO JEWEL - In the vibrant automotive landscape of Brazil, a rich history of independent automakers unfolded, reaching its zenith in the 1970s and 80s when the nation's automotive markets were shielded from foreign competition. This protectionist approach, akin to China's current stance, compelled manufacturers to produce locally. Global giants like Ford, General Motors, and Volkswagen seized the opportunity, with Volkswagen establishing a particularly dominant presence.

This era witnessed the emergence of iconic brands like Miura, Adamo, Bianco, Ventura, Lafer, and the renowned Puma. During the period of closed borders to foreign competition, Brazil's automotive industry thrived, fostering a diverse range of local products across various segments—a source of immense pride for the Brazilian people.

Amidst this dynamic backdrop, one standout player in recent years has captured attention—Amaritz GT DoniRosset. Boasting over 1,000 horsepower, a million-dollar price tag, three seats reminiscent of McLaren, and a luxurious blend of carbon fiber, rare metals, and jewels, DoniRosset exudes superlative excellence.

The brainchild of entrepreneur William Denis RossetDoniRosset materialized as an extravagant gift for his father, Donino Rosset, affectionately known as Doni. Collaborating with Brazilian designer Fernando Morita of Studio Amoritz GT, development commenced in 2008 based on Morita's sketch for the Amoritz GT DR7. The car, rebranded as DoniRosset, is set for a limited production run of 50 units, each commanding a price tag exceeding $1 million.

Adorned with typical supercar refinements like LED daytime running lights and a five-exhaust setup, DoniRosset distinguishes itself with unique features. The front emblem, bearing Doni's signature, is finished in 24 karat gold with two emerald stones, adding a touch of opulence. The car's exterior features an aluminum spaceframe chassis, extensive use of carbon fiber, and an adjustable pushrod suspension system developed in 2009 by Alexandre Hirata.

Under the hood, DoniRosset houses an 8.4-liter V10 from the Dodge Viper, powered by ethanol and equipped with twin-turbochargers, yielding an impressive 1,007 horsepower. The car's six-speed sequential transmission from Mendeola ensures a thrilling driving experience. With dimensions measuring 4.7 meters in length and 2 meters in widthDoniRosset commands attention both visually and dynamically.

Stepping inside, the interior layout mirrors the McLaren F1, featuring a central driving position flanked by two passengers secured by a six-point Sabelt belt. Noteworthy elements include a dashboard adorned with three touchscreens and details fashioned in tourmaline Paraiba, an exclusive green stone found only in Brazil, surpassing emeralds in value.

Designer Fernando Morita elucidates, "The main theme was to merge form and function, with lines directly related to mechanical parts. The interior and exterior are connected, seeking simplicity and direction of lines converging to the pilot."

While the DoniRosset project initially garnered interest and even presented a full-scale model in 2012, its progress faced hurdles. The venture, unfortunately, succumbed to the economic crisis that gripped the region around 2014. News about the project dwindled, and the last trace of the unfinished supercar prototype, as of early 2020, resided in the workshop of Andre Filipe Caligari in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Caligari, a seasoned craftsman known for custom cars and one-off specials, now extends an intriguing opportunity. Those with the expertise and interest have the chance to complete the DoniRosset, as Caligari shifts his focus to his own automotive endeavors. In this unfolding chapter, the fate of DoniRosset lies in the hands of those eager to see this ambitious vision reach its full potential. *** [EKA [19062013] | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | AMORITZ GT | CARBODYDESIGN | BLESSTHISSTUFF | BEHANCE | GTSPIRIT | GTPLANET | WORLDCARFANS ]
