The Grob G 120TP is a two-seat, single-engine military trainer aircraft manufactured by Grob Aircraft. It offers a cost-effective military training solution for the air forces. The G 120TP is intended for basic and advanced pilot training missions, as well as aerobatic manoeuvres including spins, loops, rolls, stall turns and outside turns.
The aircraft has a length of 8.6 meters is also equipped with weather radar, so it is able to fly in all conditions as well as the use of the turboprop Rolls-Royce 250-B17F engine that are easy to maintain and fuel efficient. The Grob aircraft also is equipped hook for machine guns, missiles, and bombs are located under the wings. Another plus, this aircraft could be use to train the pilots ability to air and ground attacks.

The advantages of Grob G 120TP aircraft lies in the wingspan position under its fuselage so that it has a good aerial acrobatic manoeuvres. The aircraft design makes the aircraft more stable during its flight. With a wingspan of 10.19 meters that equipped with special grooves to avoid turbulence at the rear side.
Four units of the Grob G 120TP training aircraft has been ready to be sent to Indonesia. The fourth plane had been given the color and registration of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-Angkatan Udara), was launched (Rolled Out) at the Grob aircraft manufactur facility in Tussenhausen, Mattsies, Germany, Wednesday, May 22, 2013, at 10:00 local time. The Grob G 120TP aircraft is going to be stationed at the Education Squadron in Adisutjipto Air Base, Yogyakarta.

These four aircrafts for the Basic Training (Latih Dasar/LD) with registration LD-1201, LD-1202, LD-1203, LD-1204 and will be sent to Indonesia by ship and will arrive in Indonesia mid-to late July 2013. The Grob G 120TP aircraft purchased from the Indonesian government to be used as a replacement for the Indonesian Air Force's initial training (Latih Mula/LM) AS-202 Bravo and the basic training (LD) T-34C aircrafts which has been used for over 30 years. Indonesian goverment buy 18 units of this aircraft as well make it as a launch customer.
