HondaJet's inaugural flight worthiness tests as well as tests in terms of F & R (function & reliability) in which this process test flights of service operations. This test is also a standard test of lavatory and side-facing seat option, as well as cabin systems testing. Other tests are testing Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC).

The first flight of HondaJet was recorded on May 16, 2013, at 15:00 local time, starting from Piedmont Triad International Airport. Throughout the trip takes an hour, HondaJet featuring smooth performance with level flight altitude of 12,000 feet above sea level and a maximum speed of 300 knots.
Since 2010, HondaJet has been conducted five trials with FAA airworthiness. HondaJet also has patented Over-The-Wing Engine Mount (OTWEM) and use a turbo jet engine type GE Honda HF120. This aircraft comes with shades of blue and pearl white with metallic gold outline.
