Cadillac some time ago launched a grand touring concept car with an open roof called Cadillac Ciel. The car design is inspired by the natural beauty of the California coast and "Ciel" derived from French word which means "sky." Cadillac Ciel is 4 seats convertible sedan concept and using a twin-turbocharged V6 engine which has 3,600 cc of capacity and the Direct Injection fuel supply system.
The car is also equipped with the hybrid technology that derived from lithium-ion batteries. This engine is believed to be able to generate power of 425 hp and 430 Nm of torque. The entire power generated to its four wheels through 8-speed AWD transmission.
This concept car was first introduced at the 2011 Pebble Beach Councours D'Elegance event and now Ciel seems to be a base model of the premium sedan of Cadillac's production. Production version of this concept car is likely to compete among the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes Benz C-Class and the Lexus IS.
According to Clay Dean, Cadillac's Global design Director, the car can be described as a large car, expressive and has a legacy of luxury that is inherent in the Cadillac brand. A product with the Cadillac's true luxurious that growing from its experience of more than a century, and Ciel is about the traveler experience.
Cadillac experience and expertise can be seen in the four door with French's style - with a rear door hinges are placed at the back, with no B-pillar. The interior is enriched with the Italian Olive wood, aluminum, leather, and aluminum windshield frame. While the fender lines drawn to the stern and the nickel plate to reinforce the car body lines.
"There is authentic craftsmanship in the way the exterior and interior elements meld, much like vintage," said Gael Buzyn, Cadillac's Interior Design Manager. "This car is romantic, not only in form, but the materials - nothing smells as good as wood and leather. Fused together to feel valuable luxury without compromise." he said. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | CADILLAC | DAPURPACU]
