Cancer is an Evolution consequence?

A renowned biophysicist from Princeton University catapult controversial theories about cancer. According to him, the cancer cells are growing uncontrollably to life threatening is an attempt to select human nature.

The researcher is Robert Austin, the leader of the Physical Sciences-Oncology Center at Princeton University. Shone reputation as a cancer researcher made his name chosen as a member of the National Academy of Sciences. Experience researching and treating cancer cells for nearly four decades made Austin has his own understanding of this deadly disease.

"Cancer is a consequence of rapid human evolution," he told The Scientist, on April 3, 2013. Evolution makes human quickly turned into mammals that walk upright on two legs. This gradual process is often accompanied by mutations causing harm. The risk continues to lurk during the development of the human species. Mutations occur more often the greater the risk borne by the human species.

Some mutations do have a very big risk. Though the evolution of a strong willed individual leaves in order to maintain continuity of the species. Therefore, according to Austin, offering cancer as a counterweight to the evolution of human change very quickly. This view also explains why the immune system does not hold back the development of cancer cells.

He said that on the species level, cancer is ultimately good. Although as a natural power that can not be denied, the cancer can be treated. But Austin rejected the term "cure" cancer because these mechanisms are needed in human evolution. The thing to do is to control the cancer until quite a long time without making people lose their quality of life.

Austin mentions healing through chemotherapy too oversimplify the problem. Harmful radiation used in high doses to destroy cancer cells that are needed evolution. "Do not kill the cancer cells, but take care of it," he said.

In the case of tumors, most doctors try to break the blood vessels of the body are affected. Effort to "starve" the tumor is, again, considered against the nature of evolution. Not surprisingly, many tumors that did fight back by turning it into more virulent. "Like she was creating a monster," said Austin.

Efforts tumor treatment can be done by making the tumor remained comfortable and calm. Research on this solution is still done by Austin in the laboratory he leads. According to him, it is quite possible the researchers found a powerful way of the cancer care. *** [EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | THE SCIENTIST | ANTON WILLIAM | KORAN TEMPO 4195]
