5. Volkswagen XL1
Volkswagen’s dream of developing a 235-mpg automotive (1 litre per one hundred kilometers) has finally been accomplished, because the new XL1 are going to be creating its world debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. to form things even higher, the primary details are discharged these days. Volkswagen describes it as "a spectacular look – a automotive of the longer term, engineered for these days."
The automobile uses a plug-in hybrid system to realize mind-blowing consumption of simply 0.9 liters of fuel consumed each a hundred kilometers (and average of roughly 261 miles per gallon). Plus, the XL1 will go up to 50 kms on its battery power alone.
All are advanced hybrids and made of carbon-fibre XL1 power comes from a 47-horsepower, two-cylinder ICE which are connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch casing, whereas the 20 kilowatt (27 hp) motor is fed by a lithium-ion battery. each mix to relinquish the XL1 performance figures that square measure, whereas not stirring, not shabby considering its extreme frugality: 0-62 mph (100 kph) in 12.7 seconds and high speed is sort of 100 miles per hour (161 kph). This diminutive silver machine is, however, every inch a supercar, from its hi-tech construction, to its 300 mpg-plus fuel economy.

2. Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG
It's true, sometimes big things come in small packages. This is a fitting expression pinned on Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG.
The body is small, but it uses a four-cylinder turbo engine that has a
capacity of 2.0 liters codenamed M133 and based on the Daimler 2.0 liter
turbocharged power plant with an output of 360 horsepower equivalent.
Mercedes-Benz A45 AMG also has a power system with 4 Matic Mercedes all-wheel drive.

The Mercedes-Benz A 45 AMG accelerates
from zero to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds, while its top speed stands at 155
mph which is electronically limited. It features the AMG Speedshift DCT
seven-speed dual clutch transmission and a rear differential.

Cosmetic
upgrades include an AMG carbon-fibre exterior mirror housing, AMG
Exterior Carbon-Fibre package, a front splitter, a set of side sill
panel inserts and trim on rear apron in genuine carbon fibre. The rear
gets an AMG aerofoil, an AMG Exclusive package and a set of AMG
multi-spoke light-alloy wheels in 8 x 19 fitted with 235/35 R 19 tyres.
They come finished in two variants, either painted in titanium grey with
high-sheen finish or in matt black with high-sheen rim flange.
3. Alfa Romeo 4C
Fiat is relaunching the iconic Alfa Romeo brand with the new mid-engined, rear-drive Alfa 4C compact sports car. This is a lightweight supercars use engine size of 1,750 cc turbocharged four-cylinder. This engine produces 240 horsepower to weight ratio of 4 kg per hp. This means that the car weighs about 2,500 lbs (1,000 kg), coupled with a sleek and sexy design, this car may soon well known in the North American market.

The engine gets direct-injection, MultiAir dual continuous variable valve timing and a new scavenging system that “gets rid” of any turbo lag. Bespoke intake and exhaust systems have also been developed for the 4C. The result of these technologies is an engine with the potential performance of a 3.0-litre six-cylinder unit, but with the fuel economy and CO2 emissions of a smaller four-cylinder engine.

All that grunt gets shuttled to the rear wheels via a dual-clutch transmission with an unspecified number of gears. Engineers have worked to keep the two-door's weight to a minimum by using plenty of aluminum and carbon fiber. It has expounded on the model's various traction control modes, however, saying drivers will be able to choose between Dynamic, Natural, All Weather and Race modes. Not yet known exactly how much the Alfa Romeo 4C price, but it is rumored that the styling concept car made by Alfa Romeo is priced between $ 45,000 - $ 50,000.
2. Spyker B6 Venator
Spyker
is back to doing what it does best, and that’s building beautifully
detailed sports cars with the performance to match their good looks.
Still only a concept, the B6 Venator slots in under the Spyker’s current
C8 Aileron but to our eyes looks just as exquisite. Highly detailed
design, bespoke materials and aviation-inspired elements are a core part
of the car’s design.
Key
elements include V-pattern mesh in the front grille, an airplane-style
cockpit and LED rings for the tail-lights that mimic the afterburners on
a modern jet fighter. The interior features the finest materials and
feels unusually open and airy for a sports car. Spyker uses only the
finest leather and aluminum here; in fact, the use of plastics in the
cabin is reduced to almost zero.
The
car is shorter than the C8 and is powered by a V-6 instead of a V-8,
but the engine is still mid-mounted and changing gears is still done via
Spyker’s unique exposed mechanism. The B6 Venator puts out more than
375 horsepower and only weighs around 3,000 pounds thanks to an aluminum
chassis and carbon fiber body.
