The Telephone Book History

Increased home telephone customers every year to make phone books getting thicker. Telephone book is also considered one of the effective media campaign.

Special sheets are used as a promotional event in the phone book made with different color sheet non-commercial telephone customers directory. Gazette campaign was given a yellow color that is known as the Yellow Pages.

On February 21, 1878, the world saw the first telephone directory. The twenty-page book, which listed the numbers of phones in New Haven, Connecticut, instructed users not to "use the wire more than three minutes at a time, or more than twice an hour."

Furthermore, at the end of the year this phone book is no longer published in a piece of paper. The telephone book at that time already comes with several commercial pages.
