In the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, the British SUV manufacturer, Jaguar Land Rover (LR), surprises with showcased of seven Electric Defender models. The diesel engine and the gearbox was replaced by an electric motor-powered 94 hp and 330 Nm of torque comes Lithium-ion 300 volts with a capacity of 27 kWh.

Electric Defender retains its classic drive system such as 4-wheel drive and differential lock. Because electric motors deliver maximum torque instantly from the running, the gear shift is not required, and the transmission consists of one speed only. Reduction gearbox ratio 2,7:1 combined with 4-WD system.

As revealed by Anthony Harper, Jaguar Land Rover's Head of Research to Carscoop, the opportunity to see the process as well as developing some new technology that will be used on Land Rover models in the future.
