The First Electric Sport Car Concept from Signal Kustom Built

Before the birth of Tucuxi, the electric sports car owned by Mr. Dahlan Iskan, which is the work of Danet Suryatama a lively discussion in Indonesia some time ago. Apparently there have been electric sports car made in Indonesia before.

This electric sport car was originally created to participate 2010 Autoblackthrough modification contest, becomes the Champion of 2010 Autoblackthrough and bring home the grand prize.

This electric sports car inspired by the form of the Formula-1 car and LeMans 24 hours endurance racing cars, the total modified from base car 1993 Honda Genio so that it becomes an electric sports car named SKEV-1 (Signal Kustom Electric Vehicle-1) was made on the cooperation between the Signal Kustom Built Bandung, Indonesian Institute of Sciences (Lembaga Ilmu Pengetahuan Indonesia/LIPI) and supported by Auto Vision, AudioPro and Alpine each supplying lighting, audio and multimedia devices.

The LIPI, which managed to turn the driving force of the car into 100% electricity. With AC electric motor powered by 60 hp, but unfortunately this car has never been tested. According to estimates SKEV-1 can be driven over 140 km/h. In order to harmonize the performance of the electric motor was installed 5-speed manual transmission capable of producing up to 52 hp and torque of 156 Nm at 6,500 rpm.

In SKEV-1 was installed the latest generation of lithium-ion battery with high energy density as energy supplier to its electric motor. 96 volts of battery voltage with 200 Ah of capacity, it only takes 4 hours of charging in order to regain full from the condition of 30 percent, even if using a quick charging system (rapid chargers), the vehicle weighs about 700-800 kolos it only takes 15 to 20 minutes until the battery is fully charged . For a one-time charge, the car is capable of running a distance of 160 to 200 km.

This car also uses regenerative braking, which means when the car is through the ramp will automatically charge the battery. As this car's brake rely on four discs of ventilated and perforated models with large-diameter which are clamped by Brembo's caliper piston.

For the SKEV-1 bodyworks done by a team of Signal Kustom Bandung. The combination of steel, metal and carbon so make the SKEV-1 has aerodynamic look. This car using blueprints and order custom tubular space frame structure of 4 mm thick steel. For the parts of the hood and fender start using crafted metal materials as well as some element of carbon.

The total length of this car is 390.5 cm, width 260 cm, while the height has been reached 96.83 cm. On the interior, the car is also decorated with a dashboard complete carbon elemental that could show battery capacity, battery voltage, motor speed, odometer, cycle analyst, spy glass, as well as GPS and Alpine's rear view camera.

For audioworks, SKEV-1 handled by a team of AudioPro which is installed full Alpine's audio device that are supplied directly by Alpine itself. Here is the detailed specification, Alpine IVA-W502E head unit, 5 units Alpine TME-S370 monitor, 4 units Alpine SWR-1042 subwoofer, 2 sets Alpine SPR17S, 2 units Alpine PDX-F6 amplifier and 2 units Alpine M12 amplifier.

With streamlined and futuristic display, the vehicles is became more perfect, thanks to the use of Pirelli's high performance tires. the front mounted size 295/30 ZR19 while in the rear has 355/25 ZR19.

Attendance SKEV-1 is one of the representative works of Indonesia technologies where this work can be compared with other nations technology made.
