Researchers in Australia have discovered a tool that can reset your body clock and helps people to sleep properly even after a flight across different time zones. The tool, called Re-Timer was developed Flinders University researchers. It’s taken a few years, but the LED light glasses
developed at Australia’s Flinders University that first attracted our
attention back in 2003 are finally seeing a commercial launch.

It works by stimulating parts of the brain that regulates the body's sleep clock. "Body clock or circadian rhythms affect the pattern of sleep and wakefulness," says Professor of Psychology Flinders University, Leon Lack. People who want to set the hours of sleep they need to use it for 50 minutes each day for a period of three days after waking in the morning.
To advance the body clock, the user must use the tool after waking in the morning. Put it on before bed will slow hours of sleep. In addition to people who frequently travel by plane, a tool that can be set according to the time zone can also be worn by those who work with the system shifts or those who have trouble sleeping during the winter. "The light receptors in the eye detects sunlight signals the brain to wake up and alert, and set the rhythm of the body. Rhythm varies regularly in round 24 hours. Process usually disturbed because it was in the room, traveling to different time zones, or lack of sunlight during the winter, "said lack told the Daily Mail.

The device weighs 75 g (2.6 oz) and is designed to be worn over reading
glasses so as not to inhibit reading or working. Its lithium ion battery
is recharged via an included USB cable with a full charge powering the
device for roughly four hours.
"Our study shows, the green light is one of the effective wave to advance or delay the sleep hours and this is the only tool that uses green light that comfortable to wear at this time," said Lack.
The Re-Timer can be ordered online for U.S. $258 (or approx Rp. 2.48 million), with the site also providing a frequent flyer calculator that indicates the best times to use the device to minimize the effects of jet lag based on your particular flight. *** [GIZMAG | EKA | FROM VARIOUS SOURCES | SRI | PIKIRAN RAKYAT 06122012]
